Ms. Anu Thelly is a nurse specialized in both Palliative and Alternative Medicine. She completed her Bsc in Nursing at the Pushpagiri College of Nursing in Kerala and acquired her MSc in Nursing from the Narayana Hrudayalaya College of Nursing in Bengalaru. Ms. Thelly has trained at the Institute of Palliative Medicine, Calicut, Kerala, and has been a Nurse Consultant in Palliative Care for the past three years, currently serving at the Mahatma Gandhi Medical College Institute in Pondicherry. In 2014, Ms. Thelly received a Third Prize for the “No Pain for Children – Pediatric Palliative Care Excellence Award” in Rome, Italy, and has received a number of bursary awards to attend various international palliative care conferences. Ms. Thelly has been working to develop trained groups of people in different parts of selected areas which include schools, colleges, community settings, hospitals, etc, in Pondicherry so that these individuals can then go on to volunteer in Palliative Care activities in hospital, hospice and community settings.
