Akbar Khan

Akbar Khan
Mr. Akbar Khan is a seasoned financial services professional with more than 25 years’ experience spanning investment banking, corporate finance, SME lending and financial technology. He has held several leadership positions across Europe, Middle East, Africa and India. He is the currently CEO of Rainpay India Private Limited, a US backed Fintech that focuses on employee earned wage access and other HR benefit solutions. Prior to Rainpay India Private Limited, he was a founding member and CEO of Credit Enable India, the SME focused marketplace.

Akbar Khan continues to be an advisor to Credit Enable. Prior to Credit Enable, he was the CEO and Board Member of Intellegrow, a specialty NBFC and part of the Aavishkaar platform, focusing on SME finance. Prior to joining Intellegrow, he was Managing Director and Head of Business Development (M&A) for General Electric in South Asia, Middle East, North Africa and Turkey. He was at GE for 5 years and led a number of acquisitions, dispositions and joint ventures across sectors. In his role, he worked closely with GE businesses to help achieve their strategic priorities while ensuring business development activity was aligned to the overall company strategy.

Prior to joining GE in 2011, Akbar Khan worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where held leadership positions and was involved in several M&A and capital raising transactions in Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and India. Before joining Merrill Lynch in 2000, Akbar worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Business Advisory Group in London. Akbar holds a BA (First Class) in Economics from the Mumbai University and an MBA from the London Business School. He is also a Chartered Accountant, having qualified as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). He likes to read, play squash and spend time with family.
